The reason I am not a Christian is because I think it means one accepts the creeds, at least the Apostle's Creed,and most likely the Nicene Creed. Since I cannot simply affirm the faith as historically formulated, I am not a Christian. Some people are comfortable with calling themselves Christians who do not believe the specific doctrines that distinguish Christianity, such as the Trinity, the Dual Nature of Christ, the Vicarious Atonement, and the Resurrection, but I am not........
