Kilnadeema-Leitrim closed the old millennium on a high note after winning their first ever County Intermediate hurling title. The final was played at Loughrea and on the day it took an outstanding team display to overcome a fancied Kiltormer outfit. It is a great credit to all involved in hurling in the two parishes that we enter a new millennium as a fully fledged senior club. ... Kiltormer's hopes rose when they won an injury time penalty. Their 'keeper Scan McKeigue unleashed a fine shot but Cathal Shiel deflected it to safety. The final whistle was blown and scenes of joy, excitement and celebration followed as captain Raymond Larkin received the Michael Sylver Cup on behalf of his team. google.com ===== One can only speculate, but it appears Kilnadeema-Leitrim consumed a tad more Nature's Taste than Kiltormer in order to secure the coveted Michael Sylver Cup for Hurling.
