"AMD is claiming Intel will intro their .13u Flash process in 2H'03 but Intel seems to have something else in mind:"

Considering that Intel claims to be sampling right now, 2H03 seems to be a bit of fantasy. If AMD really ships MirrorBit in decent quantity in 1H02, it shouldn't make a lot of difference. The reduced number of contacts gives some credibility to AMD's claim that MirrorBit on 0.18 micron will have all the characteristics of their regular NOR process, except faster and a density approaching StrataFlash at 0.13 micron. Does StrataFlash have a 20 year retention time, 1 million erase cycles, the temperature range and cycle time of MirrorBit? Considering that MirrorBit has an effective bit density as StrataFlash, despite being on 0.18 micron while StrataFlash is at 0.13 micron, sounds like trouble for Intel...
