Everyone has now-or might have-the chance to become an inquisitive citizen of the world.

When I had zero material goods as a child, I was perfectly able to and did experience the world's wondrous variety and enjoyed my place in it. I always have. The amount of wealth is almost irrelevant to that process. I could see and understand everything and explored all sorts of connections and avenues.

As a young adult, I had almost zero assets, but travelled the world, selling my services and continuing to experience all that stuff and continued to be inquisitive.

Everyone right now has the chance to be inquisitive. Few like the idea of being citizens of the world, being bound in their narrow nationalistic parochialism, usually with a good dose of jingoism and xenophobia to go with it.

You can give them all the wealth in the world and they will still be like that.

Leave people alone! That's the main thing. Unfortunately, freedom has little meaning, even in those countries which claim to offer their citizens freedom. It is really freedom to do as you are told, provided it is permitted by the authorities and provided you pay a third [or more] of your income to the government.

Mostly, people simply are not inquisitive or can't understand the things they might wonder about. You can't make a cat into a dog or a duck interested in politics. People are not all the same. Even if they are given a lot of somebody else's wealth.
