I have seen estimates of 7% as a minimum on the advantage of the 512K cache - but we won't have to wait that long to find out. There was some overclocking data that showed 7-15% on the FSB increase depending on RDRAM 1066 vs 1200, but we will have to wait a little longer for this one. SMT will only be available on their Xeon CPUs for the next year, so it will be the last piece of the puzzle. taking the lower range of the figures, still results in a 40% increase in IPC. That coupled with a 50% increase in clock frequency means that Intel does not have to worry too much about the near term.
