I probably wouldn't bother to disagree with someone calling someone else "unpatriotic." It's so completely personal an opinion, and kind of meaningless without a definition of the word. If I were in the mood, i might join in a good argument about definitions.

But the underlying impulse of this thread is PC. It's about the burning desire to cast suspicion on and intimidate those who dare to dissent. "You are unpatriotic" is not the same as "You are a traitor."

I don't like PC-thought, as you know if you are familiar with my history of posting on SI. I don't like PC whether it stands for Politically Incorrect or Patriotically Incorrect. The same "inner-fascist" (I made up the phrase-- it's a "spoof"-phrase with a "basis in truth!") in human beings generates each, imo.

Bill, look how many people are posting to me... and each thinks, like Patrick, that I shouldn't reply to him, I'll bet!
