I have heard an unofficial earnings projection of .08 to .10 ($Can) p/share for the 2nd quarter. Is that consistent with any numbers you have heard ?

They do seem to have a nice cash position relative to their size. Even when you factor in the announcement about buying back shares, their cash position seems strong.

I'll admit I have posted negative comments about SSPIF in the past. Those comments have been based my frustration with the way this stock has traded since January of 1996 when the stock began it's long decline. My frustration has nothing to do with the fundamentals of their business. I just get irritated with the company because I think they could do more to get their story out.

I know the company is strong fundamentally. If earnings come in at .08 to .10 they will be triple over the same qtr last year and the company will be well on it's way toward 1997 earnings of between .40 and .50 p/share which would be a double over last year's .23 p/share. And that's not counting any positive numbers from acquisitions.

I really don't understand why this thing is trading in the low $5's. I know it's under-followed but this seems totally ludicrous. Anyone have any ideas ?
