Hi, Ray -

"...I would also hazard a guess they hardly knew how much follow on damage in terms of commercial chaos and hotel havoc they could create in our fragile economy by their heinous act."

No kiddin'. I'm sure Al-Qaida didn't plan it, but I came home tonight to a letter from my insurer: my home insurance rates will be going up. The purported reason is that the losses suffered by re-insurers worldwide have been so staggeringly large that all rates, everywhere, will be rising. The language indicated that there was nowhere to go, for cheaper rates - and though I haven't had time to check, I can well believe it's true.

In many ways, this is going to be a very costly business. We can kiss goodbye to the ol' peace dividend.

Regards,

Jim
