<<this nation is secular>>

In actuality it is not. No nation of the West is, or ever has been. We are going through a temporary period-as much as 50 to 75 years-of general cultural decline. Some of the symptoms include the excesses described here by the ACLU, but the core of the disease is in our academic institutions, which have become rotted-out reactionary nests of Marxists, sexual deviants, anti-humanity enviro-crank movements, as well as various other countercultural whacko ideas. Some of the anecdotal symptoms include the recent and thoroughly corrupt Clinton administration, as well as the continuing viscous fights to exclude references to our Judeo-Christian cultural roots in the failing, nationalized education system.

All of the above has been tolerated-though not accepted-by a generally tolerant and peaceful citizenry. September 11 has begun a gradual process to diminish that misguided toleration, though the magnitude of the effects in the next 2-3 years remain to be seen. The renaissance will, nevertheless, eventually come-most likely in our lifetimes. Whether we view the results of that renaissance as positive or negative will, of course, depend on our diverse points of view. But there is one absolutely for-sure thing: Nobody involved with driving that future cultural renaissance will ask you or I for advice, or give a flying shit what we think about it.

For that reason alone, I will consider that generation smarter than we were...
