Globe says Canaccord analyst sees cash infusion for MGI

Wed 28 Nov 2001

The Globe and Mail reports in its Wednesday, Nov. 28, edition that shares
of MGI Software were halted Tuesday on the Toronto Stock Exchange. The
Globe's In Brief column reports that a company spokesperson declined
comment until it issues a news release. Canaccord Capital analyst Paul
Bradley speculated MGI might get an infusion of much-needed cash from an
investor. MGI has been drawing down its cash reserve in recent months and
had $5.4-million in cash and short-term investments, it said. MGI raised
$10-million through a rights offering in the summer. However, it has been
unable to use it because the prospectus has not been approved by
regulators, the company said.
