They keep on implementing procedures that are downright inefficient and there are still a lot of holes in the security aspect. The problem isn't underpaid workers, it is a broken process to start with. You could pay these men and women $30/hr and the same problems would still exist tomorrow. Yep...that seems to sum it up. I saw an interview with the CEO of Jetblue airlines and he pretty much said the same thing. Lots of overkill that mucks up the process. He said "over the wing" security isn't the problem now, it's the "under the wing" part that is lacking.
