Until very recently, CSCO didn't have a competing product. The rub was always trying to integrate a legacy network that uses TDM, SONET and ATM with one that uses WDM, Gig-E and MPLS. I don't have an answer to whether or not the recent products that CSCO announced are catch up or have presented a serious challenge to RSTN's, I do know the metro market is going to be rather large and with the current restructuring of CSCO into 12 different business units Cox may have felt that their needs would be better served by RSTN. RSTN has done back flips to make sure their equipment works with everything else that is out there.
