Paul, RE: Q1 and Q2 of almost every year are Intel's slowest quarters - that is a SEASONAL FACTOR bourne out for many years.

Cutting back on raw materials in November and December would be normal for reduced demand and manufacturing for the following quarters - Q1 & Q2 2002.


Paul, you misunderstood my post.

When I referred to a weak Nov and Dec, I was referring to to Intel shipments, not raw materials orders.

Chen is fully aware of the seasonality to Intel's business and clearly incorporates that in his report, comparing his guess as to the 4Q with historic 'normal' numbers.
