3:43PM Amkor Tech (AMKR) 15.33 -0.25: Dow Jones reports from CSFB conference that AMKR believes semiconductor business has bottomed and that it expects growth in the Mar qtr; both Dec and Mar qtr estimates already anticipate sequential growth, so there hasn't been any movement in the stock.

3:17PM Plexus Corp (PLXS) 31.24 +0.11 (+0.4%): Hearing from traders at Robertson Stephens that firm positive on PLXS, believes co will acquire assets from EMS after the SLR/EMS merger; thinks acquisition of assets will be accretive.

1:52PM Intel (INTC) 31.93 -0.38 (-1.2%): -- Update -- Goldman Sachs out with positive comments on INTC -- believes management will raise guidance on December 6 update; believes the company's prior guidance of -5% to +5% sequential revenue growth will change to a range of flat to up 7%.

1:33PM OSI Systems (OSIS) 16.99 -1.14 (-6.2%): Selling off in reaction to trading floor talk that company is attempting to raise another $15 mln through a private placement; this would be the second private placement in two months for the company; we have no confirmation on these reports.

1:04PM Microsemi (MSCC) 34.40 -1.45 (-4%): Company awarded two patents on MultiPhase LoadShare switching regulators.

12:34AM Applied Micro (AMCC) 14.77 -0.54 (-3.6%): -- Update -- At CSFB conference, company says it doesn't have much visibility into Mar qtr; does see some improvement in orders but the magnitude isn't enough to determine whether it represents a true slope higher or simply noise. Company notes "the end market still looks pretty bland and pretty anemic to us." AMCC presentation just concluded.

12:28AM Applied Micro (AMCC) 14.93 -0.39 (-2.6%): -- Update -- Believes some inventory correction still required in calendar 2002 with company projected that supply/demand match up in 2003.

12:24AM Applied Micro (AMCC) 14.87 -0.45 (-2.9%): Company currently presenting at CSFB conference; says gross margins on its design wins this quarter have been about 76%; says it believes it currently has four or five months of inventory -- management acknowledges it could be saying the same thing four months from now.

9:23AM Flextronics (FLEX) 25.55: Needham upgrades to STRONG BUY from Buy; says assembly biz has clearly stabilized and is improving sequentially. Firm raises price target to $34 from $25.

9:10AM Fairchild Semi (FCS) 23.60: Company confirms guidance for Q4 revenues and remains optimistic for 2002. "While we still are guiding fourth quarter overall revenues to be flat to down five percent sequentially from the third quarter, we are encouraged by the strength in our trade sales, which should see a slight increase this quarter."
