I like having a nice apartment to live in in a nice place (but rent - live right in the centre of the city here, everything is walkable). Decent food to eat, warmth, clean clothes, showers etc apart from those basics I spend more on services, like travel and communications. The most expensive single thing as opposed to service I've ever bought is this computer - it cost $US1300 five years ago. I've upgraded it a little at a time since. The same with my road bicycle which I bought 15 years ago and upgraded...
