Web Myst,
Florida and Miami look like the two best college teams in the country. That would be a great match up, I'd have to go with Miami.
Florida has a tough game this weekend with Tennessee, that could mess up the Rose Bowl scenario.
Don't mean to not treat Miami with the respect that they deserve, although they didn't treat my Orangemen with very much respect when they played them. :)
This is the VT thread and I empathized with the difficulty of their task this Saturday.<g>
I'd guess that most VT fans are a little disappointed with the Hokies this year?
I copied this analysis of the Miami/VT game from SI/CNN. Notice the predicted score.
The Setup
Miami clinches a spot in the Rose Bowl with a win. The 'Canes have won their past two games, against ranked teams, 59-0 and 65-7, but struggled to an 18-7 finish in their last road game, at Boston College.
The Plan
The Hokies, behind freshman Kevin Jones (797 yards), must find a way to run on Miami, because 'Canes DBs Edward Reed and Phillip Buchanon (11 combined interceptions) are waiting to pounce on any Grant Noel mistake. Miami's Ken Dorsey will be challenged by the nation's No. 1 defense (223.3 ypg allowed).
The Man
Todd Sievers, K, Miami
In a big game, it helps to have one of the nation's top kickers (17 of 21 FGs) on your side.
The Call Miami, 17-10
