truck question for the Bobber:

I recently bot a '96 Ford 350 crewcab longbed (can a shortbed really be considered a truck)

It has a gooseneck or 5th wheel hitch in the bed..not sure which is correct. UNder the steering column is some sort of electronic box by "Drawtight" that has a red indicator that lights up whenever I push the brake pedal. I'm pretty sure it's related to the big loads the former owner was carrying, but not sure what I should do with it of anything. It seems to have a sliding knob that adjusts it. I assume it's to increase or decrease braking power signal to the trailer brakes

any knowledge of this?

My boat trailer has brakes but I only pull it twice a year. Other than that I use a 16 ft trailer with brakes for hauling rock, etc. I don't see any way to disengage this or turn it off when I'm not pulling a load

thanks
