Keith some people buy all the shares they can it is was a way of saving for their retirement People lost their life savings because they kept more money in company stock than was reasonable and they compounded their mistake by not lowering their allocation as the stock began to fall, or even worse, by averaged down. It a lesson many people learn the hard way, myself included. But no one else is to blame. they are not you Who am I?
