Its just faster. Its a better implementation.

Things like it being faster don't "just" happen. There must be something about it that makes it better. What is it? Surely your marketing people are going to want you to have an answer to this question when the MIS people for all your customers ask. And they aren't going to accept "It's just faster, they're going to want to know why. Why not share your answer on this forum?

And what do you mean by "better implementation"? Better implementation of what? Better than what?

According to Netscape, Windows is just a "collection of not-fully-debugged device drivers" so Win32 doesn't appear to have anything to do with it.

Right now, I'm not concerned about what Netscape says. I'm concerned about what Microsoft is telling its customers about why Microsoft's Java VM is faster than Netscape's.

Is it that Microsoft engineers know Windows better than anyone else?
Is there some API or something in Windows that, for some reason, Netscape does not utilize properly?

If its so great, then tell the software professionals on this thread so they can tell their bosses. Don't play "hide the ball" with these people. Don't insult them. They're your potential customers and investors.

"Doesn't appear to" is different from "doesn't in fact." And saying Windows does not have to do with "it" (whatever "it" is) is not the same thing as saying Microsoft's superior knowledge of Windows does not have anything to do with "it." Please clarify these ambiguities.

If Microsoft's goal is to get the whole world to go to windows because, as Chairman Bill says, Windows is the best platform for running Java, then surely you are not going to tell me that Windows or Microsoft's knowledge of the Windows APIs in fact has nothing to do with MS Java runs faster on Windows than the competition's Java. And, I doubt you are going to tell me that any of Microsoft's competitors is able to replicate Microsoft's feat (or will you?).

So, what is it about Microsoft and Windows that makes MS Java run faster on Windows than the competition's Java?
