Imagis To Install Envisage Imaging Solution At All Campus Locations In British Columbia
Vancouver, Canada, June 8, 2000; Mr. Iain Drummond, President and CEO of Imagis Technologies Inc. ("Imagis") is pleased to announce that the British Columbia Institute of Technology, ("BCIT") has chosen Imagis' Envisage Electronic Identification system in BCIT's new OneCard ID Project at all campus locations in British Columbia.
The BCIT OneCard is a student and staff photo-identification card that will offer multiple functions and services for BCIT students and staff beginning in the fall term. These include library borrowing, door entry, access to campus student services and on-campus debit card usage.
Small monetary values may be stored on the card for purchasing photocopies, computer printing, beverage and snack vending, and food at the campus. The card will be used to dispense a variety of services such as entry to the weight room, audio-visual equipment distribution and coveralls for trades students. Off-campus, the card will enable access to discounts on products and services for cardholders. The Envisage Electronic Identification system prints a full-colour digital photograph of the cardholder on the card. The Envisage system also interfaces with BCIT's Banner record system to print the name, student number, card type and expiry date.
David Harvey, Director, Campus Development at BCIT says: "The Institute needed a vendor to facilitate the introduction of our OneCard system for the 40,000 students and staff at BCIT and with Imagis we found first-rate software, a good customer service track record and a strong local service team. We particularly needed a supplier with photo-identification experience and one who offers a full-service card, office and production solution."
