Because if the trend breaks and you catch it, your return is huge.. Its as simple as that.. I have been fighting the 'trend' for 3 weeks now, and although I havnt gotten my way- its also interesting to note that my 3 week return is profitable..

This in a nutshell is why people go against the 'trend'.. Now if someone has been shorting since 9/11, thats a different story.. but the battle between 1850/1970 is yet to be resolved so it shouldnt be a surprise to you that so many people are still sticking with their 'short' speculation..

The market is speaking in tongues and until it starts speaking English, I wont be listening. If you have the gift of understanding it? Make a killing and hats off to you.. but its speaking gibberish to me : )

Good luck.. whatever way your betting..
