I have some gold shares but the management is busy betting the bank in order to buy a small mine in Australia. I suppose one can see why. Better a small gold mine than a pile of useless paper money.

No, it's an expression of how everyone else feels about the folks in charge! By the way, the chart doesn't show that the rand depreciated by a further 4+% today.
