Could be. Talat has excelled with it. I don't like Chitra Singh's high pitched voice very much anyway... All ghazals consist of disjointed couplets. As far as I understand, they weren't even written as a single entity, more like casual 2 liners compiled together later. For all i know, there may be many more couplets which could have "kya hai" at the end and could very well fit here... And for songs the singers tend to choose the most profound couplets anyway.... You have been awfully quiet about your choice lately....I hope i am not overbearingly aggressive with my Ghalib....LOL. We've gone into the Ghalib phase again...after a long time....
