Prepare the battlefield? You would have me believe preparing the battlefield is what, making holes in it? Preparing the battlefield means killing soldiers, blowing up tanks, blowing the shit out of dug in defenses, obliterating entire troop columns, (SEE HIGHWAY of DEATH in IRAQ).

Once the enemy has had the crap sufficently knocked out of them, the ground troops can begin to take the ground.

But then troops started moving, NA with US support (initially on horseback.... must have been high-tech precision-guided horses, of course). And that is when the Talibean rout began.

With all due respect, that's just plain silly. Are you really asserting here that the bombing the Northern Alliance was begging for was in fact a farce and thet they had the ground capabilities to kick the Talli's asses the whole time irregardless of any bombing. What then have they been doing the last 5 years holding only 10% of the country??? Were they that much stronger than the Taliwhacks all along and just now figgered it out??

The Talibean rout also occurred after I changed the oil in my car..... can I claim a causal relationship there?

That is a post hoc ergo propter hoc reasoning fallacy.

After having their butts shoved to the north the last 5 years, the major military event that changed in that theater was our bombing the crap outta the Whackers. Once that was completed, the ground effort was turned into a cakewalk.
