In my mind it is EXTREMELY reasonable to assume ENE has gold derivs exposure. To the best of my knowledge, the contango game was open to any outfit with the "right relationship" with the bullion bank, which of course, the #7 Fortune 500 company would have. Furthermore, there were NO restrictions to what one could use the contango game procedes for in the "real world"...the natural gas energy spike was WELL advertised by the futures markets, and the "stories" about who sold what to whom and where the hedges were delta neutral'ed off to are yet to be unravelled if indeed they are going to ever be unravelled...I'm still willing to wager ENE is "too big to fail"...just like Chrysler was...ENE and the DOE and California 'woes' are just too much in bed with each other for this not to be a big political save face football game only in the first few "downs"
