I have observed that when Bush wanders off the scripted page his utterances are usually regretted or retractracted or inappropriate.
He seems to be very limitted and uncomfortabel in public.
And I wonder about his tightly controlled appearances.
For a few hours he was scheduled to attend NYC Christmas tree lighting then a quick reversal put Laura Bush there.
Same thing happened with his father's substitution in England at the memorial for British victims of Sept. 11th.
The presidency has an 87% approval rating but I don't know what GW is really all about.
