< Intel is also been stagnent for a while as well as many semis.>
C'mon man! Intel has been stagnant??? Hasn't it tripled in the past year? So it's a few points down from the all-time high. Big deal. Look at the other semi stocks: MU, LSI, VLSI, PCMS, ALTR, AMD, etc. All have hit bumps, some make commodity chips, some compete directly with INTC, etc. BUT they are all trading WAY above their 52-week lows. Would that S3 was performing as "stagnantly" as these other semis. If it were, that would make it around $18-20 per share. If that were the case, S3 investors might have small gains instead of 30-70% losses. But no, S3 trades at one-half what it was when this thread was started 1 1/2 years ago, all during a big PC upgrade cycle and strong stock market. In conclusion: you are fooling yourself if you try to compare the graphics chips semis to the other semi stocks. They are in a category all their own. |
