He's of limited intelligence. But he's OUR guy with limited intelligence, ok? And he's got warm-and-fuzzy PR cranked on "high" and we're at war, and he's actually not relevant anyway. Forget about approval ratings. This won't be taken kindly, but it could be Buster the Clown as president, for all it matters.
It's the impressive mandarins in the cabinet and back in Texas (Bush senior,J. Baker, et al) that plan the future and run the show, a continuation of the previous Bush/Regan administration. (It's been sanitized from the media, but Tim Russert of NBC said on live tv the day after 9/11 that Bush seniro was in the White House on the morning of the attack, and laughed about it.) Which will show some of the same results (the fall of a major enemy, massive increase in military/industrial complex, huge nat'l debt, wealth concentration, decrease in social programs, civil liberties, etc.), and then a blow-off of a major scandal of some sort near the end of the first administration. Same old, same old.
but as Seinfeld said "not that there's anything wrong with that...". We're still the best country in the world, with the best politicians money can buy! |
