There are plenty of catalysts for a bull market I will start off with: Insanity and greed fueled by absurd pumping of liquidity by Greenspan, coupled with follow the leader mentality of investors, together with lies from Wall street analysts as well as corporations like INTC that people believe cause that is what they want to hear. This has a decent chance of continuing far longer than bears can stay solvent shorting it. M
