Probably about six or so years ago, a SSB broker cold-called me and talked me into meeting with him to discuss my small, self-managed portfolio. He questioned why I liked Dell so much, and told me SSB liked Iomega a lot. We talked, and later that week he sent me a SSB research report that was ho-hum about Dell. He kept in touch for some time, trying to get my business and get me out of Dell. Some time later, which was the last time we spoke, he called, not to get my business or convince me to swap Dell for something else, but rather to ask me what stocks I liked. Guess what I told him? :)
