There is no deflation. There can't be deflation because there is FED intervention. We can either have mild business cycles with no deflation/inflation or we can have the protection that FED brings through interventionism with wild cycles of varying degrees of inflation. The people prefer protection and they prefer to pay the protection money with your job. So the possibility of deflation doesn't exist.

Inflation has subsided to merely disastrous. How can there be any price increases in this economic environment? There can't, but there is, and they will continue. They are in the pipeline and are waiting for some kind of recovery. The only question is, whether things will shrivel to such an extent that FED panics again and pumps. They will always err on the side of ease trading off economic marginal recovery for inflation. It is this stance which guarantees that inflation will never end.
