When the "collateral damage" includes the death of 100,000's of thousands of innocent sons and daughters

Can you be specific on where you get that hundreds of thousands figure. (I assume you mean hundreds of thousands rather then 100,000's of thousands which would be hundreds of millions).

Can you now understand why these mothers teach their children that America is the "Great Satan"?

I'll look at the three people mentioned. Pinochet - I don't hear a lot of people from Chile calling us the great satan. The Shah - You have something of a point here, but now the people of Iran probably like America more then thier leaders do. 3 - The Saudi Royal family - We did not put them in place, we do not give them aid, and they are not our puppets. We defended them against possible Iraqi attack but I fail to see how that makes us responsible for everything they do. The country is opressive but there isn't massive violence, or hundreds of thousands of deaths.

Until after there is a sustained shift in American foreign policy and its application as to how it exerts and maintains influence over geopolitical regions of strategic importance, the war on terrorism will be never ending.

There will always be people who disagree with our forign policy. Changeing it might just anger a new group. Out of the people you mention on the Saudi royal family is still in power and I can hardly see how it would be a good idea trying to overthrow them or telling Iraq that we wont stop them if they want to move on Kuwait and Saudi. I don't see what policy changes we could reasonably make in regards to Saudi.
