I have heard those arguments before and they are no more illuminating now than before.

How about this one... The customer is ALWAYS right.

Especially when you're trying to sell $10 Billion worth of products into their market in a manner their government considers unequitable.

Seems to me the US is going to win this one and Canada may have alter their "forest managment mechanisms" to more appropriately reflect the market they want to sell into. Especially when they also have the advantage of a weaker currency which provides an additional subsidy.

Btw, the Canadian dollar, like the Euro, is down because its economic system is less productive than that of the United States. When the US catches an economic cold, Canada and the rest of the world catches pneumonia.
