It's that marriage thing that gets in the way. Oh well. You may be right that grad school has a better atmosphere once your done with all the surly under grad teachers and get just those who are into technology and science. etc. I am sure your experiences are the same as mine in that the technical environment is the greatest example of people of different races and backgrounds coming together to produce a product and that you are valued for what you bring to the table not your group. In particular I have had very good experiences with both the Asian and Indian people. I work for a very small consulting firm and the only way you get into our firm is by being very good at what you do and being introduced by someone in the company who can vouch for that. The majority of people I have recommended to join our group have been of the above groups.
