More good points, Lee. Agouron has a career opty section on their webpage, and there is an opening posted (for Virginia). According to a WSJ on 3/17/97 by Rhonda Rundle, Agouron had hired and trained a sales force before approval, raiding other companies for professionals acquainted with the concentration of doctors who are treating HIV. Kent Price was quoted as saying that a number of new hires identified themselves as members of the gay community. The number of "reps * avg sal * 12 = sales" is a useful benchmark. Can you speculate on an appropriate average salary? Is it correct to assume that a large part of compensation is commission, and that Agouron will pay on the high end of the scale in order to attract experienced reps?
