Steve, No Microsoft either? Gosh, Sun must be reliable! When it comes to Oracle, it is the best to be suspicious of any of their claims. They don't let anyone benchmark and publish any score, unless everything is Oracle approved, and the test machine is a few million $$$. A test of Oracle in an environment where vast majority of unit sales goes to (of databases) - single or dual processor x86 servers - is not allowed or strongly discouraged by Oracle. So basically, nobody can verify anything Oracle says. Doing so would mean you are not in compliance with the licensing agreement. You can read all about it in a great database shootout in PC magazine, that did not happen - because Oracle did not allow PC magazine to test Oracle software and publish results. Joe
