OT OT Tejek Re ...The Republicans are claiming precedent for these actions, and Bush was on tv yesterday insisting that the military tribunals be put in place. Frankly, I don't like their attitude, let alone the actions in question. <<<<<<<<<<
Of course not. You are a Dem. and we all know the dems are in the pocket of the Bar Ass. But one should consider if we are getting any more justice now with lawyers, than we would get without lawyers. There is no justice anymore, because the lawyers, and their dupes, the so called expert witnesses, will lie for a buck faster and better than most people;; such that courts nowadays are nothing but a lying contest. The side who lies the fastest, and the hardest wins the mostest. And that is justice? No thanks.
The Rep. attorney claimed that innocent people will not be hurt but that's not true. Already where I live, the feds came in and closed a man's business down...he is Arab/American..claiming the business was money laundering for the terrorists. <<<<<<<<<<
Are you claiming that the FBI has no right to question people about whether they were involved. Secondly, businesses are shut down during a lot of investigations. How about money laundering for drug traffickers, or when the IRS seizes your books, for tax evasion etc. Why are those circumstances more serious than a terrorist investigation.
Turns out that that was not true; however, the man has had his business shut for over a month and his character questioned. <<<<<<<
His character was questioned??????? You make it sound so unpatriotic, when in fact, it is precisely the method which must be used to find out the facts; you investigate and question people. The FBI probably got a tip about this business and investigated. The fact that it took only one month to clarify, and dismiss the tips, when one considers how slow justice is, is speedy. It certainly would have been months and yrs, to come to a conclusion, if your beloved lawyers would have gotten involved.
<<<<<<<Sometimes I think there is an effort to scare the American people so that we will allow certain of our freedoms to be curtailed.<<<<<<<<<<
What freedoms can't be curtailed now? The only freedom this takes away, is the right of the lawyers to waste yrs of your life, and take all of your money. There is no justice in the legal profession. The legal profession is set up by lawyers for lawyers. What has justice to do with it anymore?
If you are worried about being scared; consider this. Terrorism has the ability to completely decimate our economy. If the police, or any other investigative agency, has to start checking shipments from abroad, for bombs, anthrax, etc. our economy will come to a standstill. How can one possibly stop, unload and check, every truck, ship and airplane for contraband. How much will that cost, and how slow will it be??? Closing down a few business and asking some questions sounds pretty good compared to that alternative. You are worried about a few freedoms, when our very livelihood could be at stake. And what good are these freedoms, if half the country is in soup lines? Wake up and smell the coffee. We can only hope the war on terrorism works, because life will be hell if it doesn't. |
