I don't know how large the impact will be offhand. The big banks look to take some serious hits but easy Al will be standing by to bail them out should serious problems develop.

This situation was widely anticipated. I doubt it will have a big market impact in the near future.

But probably bearish for the dollar since US banks are much more heavily exposed than their European counterparts.
