Sounds a bit like book burning to me. Actually the written word serves a valuable purpose. Yes it is the final arbiter, and yes it is unchanging, but that it as it should be. With the written word, when one hears teaching that he doesn't believe is consistent with his teaching, he can always get out the book and read it himself. Without a written word, the principles of a religion could much more easily be twisted to suit any sick purpose.
