I think it is to a degree. However I think it can be viewed another way as well. The way I'm looking at it (right or wrong) is that the money received by way of rebates is lump sum money that can be spent today on more expensive items. Now I realize that 600.00 is not a lot of money but it's 600.00 that if spent will not create a larger debt for the individual. The tax cuts and lower rates will take longer to work into the system but are recurring and might provide the longer burn needed to fuel a reversal. I think all of this is quite early though because I remain convinced we are in recession and will remain there for at least another 6-9 months.
