GDA, I have some observations on your post... first, the most important... if the origin of the message is the same, God or Allah swt, then there should be no wonder that there are similarities between the different religions...

you see, my objection is to the word "borrowed"...

now, about the Qur'an and co-existence with others... there are verses that clearly states "no compulsion in religion" and "you worship what you worship, and I worship what I worship"... and as you see, it does not specify any religion... so the statement is categorical

a lot of the problems we have today arise from the fact that someone wants to believe that he / she, or the group he / she belongs to is better than all others… and starts acting on it. Islam did not, and does not say that… there are verses in Qur’an that have the meaning that God said to the Prophet Muhammad pbuh not to be saddened or upset by the non-believers…. And that everyone will have to answer for their deeds on Judgment day. So, what more tolerance do you want than that.!

Why do we always have to argue that one is right and one is wrong ? why can’t we simply say, this is what I believe, you may believe otherwise, and that is fine by me, and that’s how it will be.

Regards
amein
