Today's NY Times has a good article describing the turmoil of the Hewletts and the Packards and their foundations towards the merger ...
1 things STRUCK me as interesting:
That Walter Hewlett, who is fighting the merger - "is using the arguments laid out in a 69-page analysis of the deal prepared by his adviser, Friedman Fleischer & Lowe, a SF investment firm."
--- later on the article says: "Hewlett-Packard's management is encouraged that Booz-Allen (whose unknown conclusions is being presented on Friday to the Packard Foundation board), the foundation's adviser, has met with the company and its advisers, McKinsey & Company, and Goldman-Sachs. --- Mr. Hewlett's adviser, Friedman Fleischer, did NOT visit Hewlett-Packard's management, preferring to work from public records. |
