You look for sense out of a "no sense" situation. Have thought about that a lot, CB, and don't have an answer. By delivering the material (anthrax in this case) to whatever lamebrain group in the US to use as they might is a possibility. It would and has certainly tied up manpower as well as economic resources to try to not only rid ourselves of the spores, but to try to determine their origin.

It made no sense really for Iraq to set the oil fields afire either, but Saddam did do that. They certainly fouled their own nest as well.

If Iraq did give the anthrax spores to another group, they surely are smart enough to have known the amount sent wasn't enough to kill a large population.

BUT, as I said, it was plenty for the Government to spend plenty of time, effort and money to deal with it. It is possible that they perceive our resources, money and manpower, are so entangled, it would leave Iraq more time to plan many more "events"....
