IGIT,

I wish I had a logical explanation for you. Unfortunately, the Islamic world is really in a state of disarray right now. A lot of the moderate voices in so called Muslim countries are being silenced by the state. Freedom of speech and of assembly are not common place in the Arab world.

I know many people and organizations here in America which have been very actively involved in going to schools, universities, churches, and the media trying to set the record straight about Islam and condemning its radical elements.

<< Why didn't the conservative/moderate Muslims come out in full force in getting the Taliban to turn over bin Laden before the Allied Force attack? >>

Well, Pakistan -- the traditional backers of the Taliban -- made mulitple efforts to try and get the Taliban to hand over Bin Laden. Unfortunately, the Taliban didn't comply.
