Anyone can bend words to justify something which someone else wants to believe. That's why right wing and left wing "radicals" in our own Republican and Democratic parties are so blind to moderates' arguments. They just don't want to believe. Likewise, so called Islamic radicals will consider whatever they want to as attacks against Islam just so they have an excuse to hate and retaliate against the US. No amount of arguing or discrediting will convince them or their most diehard followers. The key is to convince those who are open to logic and reason, but in most Muslim countries that is a difficult task because freedom of speech and assembly isn't a right enjoyed there.

<< Are these innocent facts or deliberate "provocations" demanding armed response? Such questions cannot be answered in any objective sense but are clearly open to interpretation according to the perceptions of the interpreter. >>

Perhaps they're open to interpretation by someone who wishes to disregard the teachings of the Quran and the Prophet Muhammed (pbuh), but to anyone well versed in the two it is obvious that an armed response to those "provocations" is totally uncalled for and unjustified. A more just response would be to not watch I Love Lucy or to not eat at McDonald's. Everyone can choose what they want to watch and eat.
