Durban Deep Donates 30 Kruggerands to GATA

Hello from wonderful New Orleans.

As far as Chris Powell, Reg Howe and I are concerned,
the New Orleans Investment Conference has been a 10 for GATA.

As a result of the Terrorists attacks,
New Orleans itself is very quiet,
as dead as any of us have ever seen it
... clear example [tourist] is way off.
[but] attendance at the conference was up over last year
and I am told part of the credit is due to GATA.

James Turk followed my presentation on Thursday
and was superb... highlighting evidence why GATA's
"conspiracy" and "market manipulation" assertions were correct.

... Bob Bishop of Gold Mining Stock Report [also] expressed
his strongly held convictions that GATA was right.

Chris and I were most appreciative.

On Thursday evening GATA held our reception
for Café members and GATA supporters
... came in from [including] Mexico, Switzerland, Germany,
Austria, Australia, South Africa, England and Canada.
Also present were
Durban Roodeport Deep Chairman and CEO Mark Wellesley-Wood,
Durban Director, the legendary Roger Kebble,
Harmony Gold Chairman Adam Fleming,
Harmony Marketing Director Ferdi Dippenaar,
Bob Bishop and David Tice of the Prudent Bear Fund.

... highlight of our two hour get together
was the presentation by Mark Wellesley-Wood...
Mark surprised us all by taking 30 Kruggerands out
of a purple satin pouch and plunking them down
on the podium as a gold as money contribution to GATA.

Naturally, Chris and I were thrilled as were all...

Go Roodeport Rocket!

... next day Reg, Chris and I had a most enjoyable lunch
with Adam and Ferdi of Harmony. Adam Fleming is most fun...

... Friday evening Reg, Chris, James Turk and I
were guests of Jory Capitol's David Derwin at Arnauds.

Don't miss that restaurant if you get to New Orleans.

This afternoon featured Hardball's Chris Matthews...

Since a feature of my presentation was the lack of freedom
of the press in America when it comes to opposing the big
money interests, I thought I might as well do what I could
to put my speech in the hands of Chris Matthews
and Chris Ruddy, one of his panelists and the President
of NewsMax Media, Inc.

... approached Chris Ruddy,
to my big surprise he said: "Hi, Bill Murphy."
We talked about the brewing gold scandal, etc,
and he took a copy of my presentation with him,
saying he would be in touch and would do a story on GATA
and the Reg Howe case.

Getting to Chris Matthews was a bit trickier,
... jumped in right before the elevator doors closed
... [He] was trapped and had to listen to my brief spiel.

To keep a short story even shorter, he looked at the title,
GATA Versus The Gold Cartel, and said he would...

Who knows? Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Then, I bumped into...

The New Orleans Investment Conference has been a terrific
momentum builder for GATA. Chris, Reg and I are very glad
that we came.

Now, the latest:.....

... notable exception is GOLD
... stands out like a sore thumb.
... [However,]The Gold Cartel showed up once again
and slammed it right back down. That is the bad news.
The good news is that as it becomes more obvious
that the price of gold is being artificially held down,
it attracts more converts and believers to the GATA camp.

That is going to hasten the demise of The Gold Cartel.

... all the gold mines in the world can be had for under $50 billion.

Look at it another way...

Back home to Dallas tomorrow.
