I'm sure you'll be here in spirit, Janice.... This evening, I was struck by an omen. I was on my way when I stopped at the local Ranch 99 (oriental grocery). As I passed through the produce section, one of the chinese gentlemen working there grabbed me by the arm and led to a counter and said "You try - velly flesh!". Spread out before me was a veritable mountain of lychee just flown in from southeast asia...and yes, they were very fresh. I picked up a couple pounds, but alas, the store was fresh out of miniature paper parasols. And though they had the other spiky fruit, they haven't had any Durian in for a while. But I did get directions to three stores in the area that frequently do have durian.... See you Sunday.... -zm
