Very interesting. These are five very strong points in favor of mainstream Christianity. However, IMO you did not answer Chris's question:

"Why would you let anybody other than Jesus define for you what it means to be a follower of his life and beliefs?"

"To disavow the Apostolic Creed is practically to disavow the only Jesus we have submitted as an object of faith, ie, the one in the New Testament."

I see a very clear Jesus with a message for his followers that is quite specific in the new testament. This apart from the religion or the church that is authorized largely by Apostles. From my view and many others it is a very different Jesus where believing the message becomes more important than joining the club....er uh church.
