Finally a little meat. Jefferson was a Deist, which meant he believed in God, just not the Christian one. He even produced a Bible from which he had expunged all the references to the miraculous, if I'm not mistaken. One thing for sure, he ripped off the Christian ethical system while trying to deny it's source. It is certainly NOT, self evident that all men are created equal, but it sounds good doesn't it? Do you believe that God exists Win? If not, how do you arrive at ultimate truth, absent an ultimate standard? Greg
