Did you see GMA this morning? Segway might not go on *every* mountain bike trail, and it might not go as fast, but it can negotiate an ordinary city curb and, from what I saw, seems to have a suspension of sorts. The wheels appear to be about 16" and Kamen has patents on a version that does climb stairs.

In addition there's a uniball version in the works that I'm sure could take a mountain trail with minimal portage and no suspension needed.
